A traffic accident occurred on Neuenkirchener Straße in Spenge on Thursday morning (11.7.) in which a VW Passat ended up in a ditch. At around 11.25 a.m., a 19-year-old from Enger was driving his car on Neuenkirchener Straße in the direction of Spenge. Due to oncoming traffic, the Passat driver tried to drive as far to the right as possible to avoid a collision with oncoming traffic. At house number 172, he then veered too far to the right onto the unpaved verge. This caused the vehicle to lurch and the man from Enger lost control of the Passat. The car slid into the ditch, skidded around its own axis and then came to a halt. The driver sustained minor back injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital in Bünde by ambulance. The driver took care of removing the severely damaged VW Passat from the scene of the accident on his own. The property damage is estimated at around 3,000 euros.
