Versammlungsrecht
Right of assembly
Information on the registration procedure for public assemblies or demonstrations

Art. 8 of the Basic Law enshrines the right to assemble peacefully and without weapons in the open air as a precious democratic right.
Anyone intending to organize an open-air assembly must register this assembly with the competent authority. The registration must be made at the latest 48 hours before the public announcement/advertisement of the assembly.
In the event of uncertainties or more extensive planning requirements, you will be invited to a cooperation meeting at which the police will advise you as the registrant on the details of the assembly. There is no obligation to cooperate on your part.

When registering an event under assembly law, the responsible department ZA 12 will collect personal data from you.
Please refer to the data protection information pursuant to Art. 13 (1) and (2) of the GDPR in the adjacent file 'Information for data subjects on the collection of personal data'.

For the area of special use in public street space (e.g. for information stands), please contact the public order office of the state capital Düsseldorf.
