The evaluation of evidence at the scene of the accident and the result of a blood test must reveal whether the consumption of narcotics and excessive speed were the cause of a traffic accident on Löhner Straße in Hiddenhausen on Friday evening (12 July). A 40-year-old man from Kirchlengern was driving his Citröen C1 on Löhner Straße from the direction of Eilshausen towards Kirchlengern at around 8.15 pm. The Citröen driver lost control of his vehicle at the exit of the S-bends there and ended up on the grass verge. The Citröen then skidded down the forest slope there and came to rest on its roof. The 40-year-old was able to free himself from the vehicle, but had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital in Herford with minor injuries. A blood sample was taken from him at the hospital as he was suspected of having consumed narcotics. A member of the driver's family took care of the recovery of the totally damaged Citröen (approx. 6,000EUR damage).
