Barrier at underground parking garage damaged

(jd) The janitor of an underground parking garage on Bahnhofstraße noticed damage on Tuesday evening (29.07.): a previously unknown driver damaged the barrier system at the exit with his car. An initial review of the video footage from the surveillance camera showed that the driver of a Ford wanted to leave the underground parking garage at 6.07 pm. In doing so, he crashed his car into the operating pillar of the barrier. The man and his passenger then left the Ford, inspected the damage and then continued their journey. Investigations by the police officers called to the owner's address revealed that the driver of the Ford was a 19-year-old from Rödinghausen. He must now answer for unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. Overall, the damage was in the four-digit range.
